The General Plan
Building/creating a long term project leaves plenty of room for errors, not
in the sense of creating the application but in a sense of trends.
The biggest enemy and enabler of this project is technology.
Technology will help the project be achieved, however it can also
cause it to fail because technology as we all know it is always changing
rapidly, especially computer hardware and devices.
It will certainly be a challenge to build a 5 year E-commerce project and
have it be successful at the end of it, however it is not impossible to
achieve. The key to enabling this
E-commerce project to be successful is in the beginning of the project when
implementing the foundation of the entire system.
The foundation of the system should be built with flexibility and
expansion in mind because it will act as a base for all the other building
blocks of the system that we intend to put on top of it.
After the foundation of the system has been created, the rest is simply
finding the right timing for implementing certain functionality that is
required in order to achieve the end objectives of the project.
This presentation will provide a rough road map of the five year
project creation process, the road map that will be presented to you today
should be considered as an example only of what potentially can happen
because this project will also be constantly monitored, anything on the road
map can change depending on what conclusions and recommendations are made
from the monitoring and review processes that will be occurring for
throughout the entire project.
